The world’s largest complete database on Japanese anime, Anime Taizen, was opened to the general public immediately, August 25, at 13:00 (JST). Taizen means “A e book that collects all issues associated to the matter” in Japanese.
Since 2015, The Affiliation of Japanese Animations (AJA) has been selling the “Anime NEXT_100” mission to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of Japanese animation. As a significant initiative of the mission, this database was first launched on a trial foundation on October 22, 2021, and after confirming performance and operation, and making enhancements and updates, it has now been launched to the general public.
As of the top of July 2022, Anime Taizen has roughly 15,000 registered titles, primarily Japanese business anime works launched from 1917 to the current. Along with title identify searches, the database has search features for chronology, Japanese syllabary, key phrases, and so forth. Because of the analysis so far, the variety of episodes quantities to roughly 180,000.
